Why Pretrib a Rapture ?

The word rapture comes from a fourth century Latin vulgate translation of the Greek word harpadzo(occurring in 1 Thess 4:17) and has been picked up by many as the best single word to express the event it describes. Some translators have rendered the word "caught up" or "snatched". Basically the Lord will return and with the sound of a trumpet all both those who have died in Christ (accepted Christ prior to their death) and those who are alive in Christ (current believers) will be taken up to meet the Lord in the air in the twinkling of an eye (by the way that's 1/1000th of a second).

Why do I feel the Pre-Trib Theory is the best?

Mark,

Hello! I too, believe in a Pre-Trib. rapture. Not because of any particular book I've read, but simply because what I've read in scripture. The Word of God is the most consistent Book I know :)

1 Thess. 5:8-10
8But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.

9For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,

10Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.

Romans 5:8-10

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

Col. 3:6
For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:

Eph. 5:6
6Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.

John 3:36
He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

The Word makes it clear that we are not appointed to wrath, but to salvation, and if we are justified, found righteous in His sight by our faith, it is contradictory to the Word itself that we would suffer through the tribulation, which is the wrath of God.

What really confirmed my belief in a PreTrib rapture was what Jesus revealed to John regarding the Philadelphia Church.

Revelations 3:10
10Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

Peace and grace be multiplied upon you and yours

Hannah
