Last Trump Not Seventh Trump

Last Trump is not the 7th Trumpet

The term Last Trump is only used only 2 times in scripture:

TRUMP: 1Thes 4:16-17

16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the TRUMP of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. (KJV)

LAST TRUMP: 1 Cor 15:52

"In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed." (KJV)

The feast of Rosh Hashanah is called the Last Trump. Paul was a Jew writing to a Jewish audience. He knew full well what the term Last Trump meant. AFTER the time of the Last Trump comes the time of Yom Kippur. This is referred to as the Day of Atonement which includes the judgements of the trumpets as seen in the book of Revelation.

Rev 8:6 "And the seven angels which had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound." (KJV)

FIRST comes the Last Trump (singular) known as Rosh Hashanah.
SECOND comes the Trumpets (plural) known as Yom Kippur.

The above list scriptures regarding the Last Trump is clearly seen as the Rapture of the Church. The 7 trumpets of Revelation is clearly seen as the time of God's judgements on the earth. It is very clear from scripture that the Last Trump and the 7 trumpets are very different and at different times. One is the Rapture followed by the 7 trumpets of judgement.

Rosh Hashanah comes every year in the fall. This year it comes Sept. 29th 2008. The Bible says that "when they say peace and safety, then sudden destruction with come upon them." Notice the words "they" and "them." This is a clear reference to people outside the Church that will not be Raptured at the Last Trump, and will then enter into the 7 trumpets of God's judgement.

Rosh Hashanah is also called the "Unknown Day" because no man knows the day nor the hour in which it begins. In fact it is two days that come together as one. It is also called the Shout and the Awakening. Sound familiar?

"For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a SHOUT, with the voice of the archangel, and with the TRUMP of God: and the dead in Christ (the Awakening) shall rise first."

"Finally, the Great Tribulation will fulfill the Day of Atonement, and the Rapture of the Church will fulfill the Feast of Trumpets. And just as the Feast of Trumpets precedes the Day of Atonement, the Rapture will in turn precede the Tribulation." (Quote from Ariel Ministries.)

BrotherMark,

Hello! How are you? I must say this, I truly appreciate your blog for all the information that it posts. I have been studying prophecy for a couple of years now and I am continually fine-tuning what I have learned over the years with the information you have provided here.

The Trump that Paul says will sound is clearly in the singular sense. You don't have to be a Biblical scholar to figure out that he (Paul) speaks of something entirely different than the revelation that was given to John. It is a subtle, but profound truth that can be very easily overlooked. Thank you for being a crusader for Christ!

Hannah,
I can only humbly thank you, for I feel the same about you and your block for Christ Jesus.
Our journeys have been brought the direction they have for a reason. We have gleaned valuable
experience that we needed to get where God has brought us when we were in the WWCG....but,
as we grow in grace and knowledge, we know that there is nothing we can trust in for salvation
other then what Christ accomplished and FINISHED ON THE CROSS. Hope your new little one is doing great.
God Bless forever,

BrotherMark

Darn those quick fingers :)

The little one is doing wonderful! Growing up way too fast. (2 months now) You have so much good material here that it's gonna take me a while to read it all.

I totally agree with our WWCG experience. It really brings a WHOLE picture of the Gospel. Sadly so many Christians do not recognize or understand the major role the Jews or Jewish tradition plays in the Gospel. They are truly left with a small portion of understanding. Many are stuck in this limited thinking (I was just reading comments on a blog "discussing" the importance of Sabbath worship). I was just reading Zola Levitt's website and was struck by a remark I found true. That we need Messianic Believers (like Paul) to teach us (Gentiles) about that "whole" picture. I'm sure many Christians will find this comment offensive, but oh well, they're always offended by what I have to say anyways :) Christianity has become a gentile religion, which is what I believe is the whole problem. We should be walking in the steps of our "Father of Faith", Abraham and thereby become adopted sons and daughters of our Heavenly Father. Instead we have adopted and mixed other doctrines and called it "Christian".

Keep up the good work... I'll be back for more!
