Quickened - Alive - Now In Christ Jesus

Ephesians 2:5 (KJV) ~ Hath quickened us together with Christ.
(NIV) ~ Made us alive with Christ.
Born to Be Alive is a 1979 album by Patrick Hernandez. The album’s title track was a significant pop hit and also hit number one on the U.S Billboard.
Here are some of those powerful lyrics written and sung by Patrick Hernandez:
Born, born to be alive (born to be alive)
You see we’re born, born, born, born to be alive!
The Bible tells us that we were once dead in our sins and our sinful nature, until God quickened us, or in other words, He made us alive in Christ Jesus. We are no longer dead to the things of God, but we are made alive, and we can know that we are alive because we feel His touch inside.
When we feel the “quick”, that sensitive flesh area under our nails, we know we are alive because we feel it. Years ago, the word “quickening” was also used to describe the first movements a baby made inside a mother’s womb. It is often described as a “flutter” that a mother senses. This “quickening” is evidence of life, and it lets us know that the baby inside is healthy and fully alive.
We were born to be alive! Not born just to live a dull, boring life style, but one which is full of life! In the film, The Chicken Run, one of the chickens makes this statement, “All my life flashed before my eyes, it was really boring.”
God did not quicken us and make us alive in Christ Jesus, for us to live a really boring life-style. God did not quicken us, and He did not make us alive in Jesus Christ, for our lives to be unproductive, but for us to be productive, and to produce fruit, fruit that will last, and for our lives to be full of the power in the Holy Spirit, that we might be soul winners. He makes us alive to be purpose-driven, and for us to live life on purpose for the glory of God.
The Bible says in John 10:10 (KJV), “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” Furthermore, the NIV Bible says this in John 10:10, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” Consider this, Jesus came that we might have life to the full and have it more abundantly! He gives us life so that every day can be a new adventure of faith in the things of God, and that we might enjoy the life which God gives us. He has quickened us, He has made us alive in Christ Jesus, and in Him we have a new life and a new life-style full of Kingdom living. The word for “life” in John 10:10 is the Greek word, ZOE, meaning “brings life, eternal life and to be alive in with His life”. The powerful living force of the Holy Spirit who raised Christ Jesus from the dead, who also by the grace of God has, through His power, raised us up and given us life in Him.
My friend, praise be to God who has quickened us, and who made us alive in Christ Jesus! He has raised us from the spiritual death, which sin brings, into the glorious new life in Him. He has forgiven us and cleansed us from our sin and made us alive. He has quickened us, He has awakened us from our slumber of sin, and given us a new life in Him. We are born, born to be alive!
Glory to His name! Hallelujah what a Saviour!
